What a central AC installation actually involves
We start at the house, not the equipment. That means measuring rooms, looking at insulation, checking the duct runs in the attic, and finding out where air is leaking before we pick a size. On install day we pull the old outdoor unit and indoor coil, correct the line set and drain, set the new equipment level on a solid pad, wire the controls, and run the system while we watch temperatures and pressures. Then we walk you through the thermostat and the filter.
What we check and install along the way
A new outdoor unit tied to old, undersized ducts will disappoint you, so we check static pressure, return air, and the condition of the plenum and boots. We look at the condensate drain and float switch, since in our sandy soil and humidity a clogged drain is one of the most common reasons people call for air conditioner repair. We confirm the breaker and disconnect suit the new equipment, replace the thermostat when the old one cannot talk to the system, and seal the joints we open.

How long does a central AC installation take?
Most straight swaps take one day. If the ductwork needs repair, the air handler sits in a tight attic, or electrical work is required, plan on two. We tell you which before we start.
Can I keep my existing ductwork?
Often yes, if the ducts are sized right and reasonably sealed. We measure airflow first. Leaky or crushed runs get repaired or replaced, because new equipment cannot fix a duct problem.
Do I need a bigger system if some rooms stay hot?
Usually not. Hot rooms are more often a duct, return air, or insulation problem. An oversized system short cycles and leaves the air clammy. We measure the house and size to what it needs.
