The AC installation symptoms we hear most
- My AC is 15 years old and it broke again Repeat failures on aging equipment, repair cost approaching replacement
- The back bedrooms never get cool Undersized or leaking duct, poor return air, wrong equipment capacity
- It runs all day and the house still feels sticky Oversized system short cycling, little dehumidification, bad load match
- We added a room and the AC cannot keep up Added load with no added capacity, candidate for a ductless mini-split
- The outdoor unit is loud and rattling now Failing compressor or fan motor, worn mounts, end of service life
People call this AC installation, air conditioner installation or AC replacement. Same visit, same written quote, same technician.
Safe things to check first
Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.
- 1Check the thermostat: fresh batteries, set to cool, and the setpoint actually below room temperature.
- 2Look at the breaker panel for a tripped breaker on the air handler or outdoor unit.
- 3Change the filter if it is grey and matted, then see if airflow improves.
- 4Clear grass, mulch and shrubs back from the outdoor unit and confirm supply vents in every room are open.

How do I know whether to repair or replace my AC?
We look at age, refrigerant type, how many repairs you have paid for, and whether the system holds humidity down. If a system is well past a decade old and needs a major part, replacement usually makes more sense than another repair.
How long does an AC installation take?
A straight changeout of an outdoor unit and air handler is often one day. If we are repairing duct, moving the air handler, adding a return, or running new line set and electrical, plan on two days and we will tell you upfront.
Do I need new ductwork with a new air conditioner?
Not always. We inspect what you have for leaks, crushed runs and undersized returns. If the duct cannot carry the airflow the new system needs, we fix the problem areas rather than replacing everything by default.
Is a ductless mini-split a good fit for my house?
Mini-splits work well for additions, garages, sunrooms, older homes with no duct, and rooms that were always too warm. They let you condition one area without adding load to the central system. We can look at both options on the same visit.
How do you decide what size system my home needs?
We measure the house, count windows and orientation, look at insulation and duct, and calculate the load. Guessing off the old unit is how homes end up with oversized equipment that cools fast and leaves the air damp.
What should I do before installation day?
Clear a path to the indoor unit and the outdoor pad, move anything fragile out of the work area, and plan for the system to be off for part of the day. If you have pets, keep them somewhere away from open doors.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptoms
You describe what changed. No cold air, a breaker that keeps tripping, water near the air handler, a smell, a noise. That gives us a head start on parts before we ever leave the shop.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and coil, refrigerant behavior and the outdoor unit. We look at the whole system, because a frozen coil usually points somewhere else.
- Step 3
You decide the repair
We explain what failed, what it takes to fix it, and how long the rest of the system is likely to hold up. You pick the repair. We do not start work you did not approve.

Why homeowners call us
- Rural routes are normal for usWe drive long stretches between calls and we plan for it. Trucks carry the common heat pump and air conditioner repair parts so a diagnosis does not turn into a second trip on a hot afternoon.
- Heat pumps and sandy soilMost homes we visit run a heat pump, and sand, lawn clippings and pollen pack the outdoor coil fast. We clear it, check the defrost side in winter, and show you what we found before we close it up.
- Well water housesHomes on well water bring their own quirks, from pump-driven electrical noise to hard water on drain lines and condensate pans. We know where those systems clog and where the slow leaks hide.
- Heating repair tooCold snaps in this region are short and hard. We do heating repair and heater repair on heat pumps, strip heat and furnaces, so one crew handles your system in July and again in January.

- Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
